Forehand Strokes | Tennis

Forehand strokes are hit the most basic and most easily taught in a tennis court. Forehand strokes performed with the palm of the hand holding the racket face to the front and the position of the racket is on your right side. To teach these punches can be done through several phases:

Grip
It is advisable to use the eastern forehand grip handle.

Position
  • Racket is held in front of the waist-high, left hand placed on the neck of the racquet.
  • Kedu knees slightly bent.
  • Both feet shoulder width apart and balanced.
  • Players in a relaxed position and focused on the approaching ball.


Preparation (Backswing)
  • Shoulder and pelvis rotated sideways to the direction of the net. Left shoulder forward.
  • The second leg is set leads to the side.
  • Rotate shoulders ahead of the rear swing.
  • Racket head back and falls below the height of the approaching ball.
  • End of the racket towards the oncoming ball.
  • Both knees bent to help movement from bottom to top.


Hitting Stage
  • Players step into the ball with his left foot before the beginning of the next swing.
  • Contact point is the waist-high in front of the body.
  • Surface of the racket is at the point of contact.


The Final Phase (Follow-Through)
  • Racquet follow the ball after contact on the swing movement.
  • Ending elbow to shoulder height, arms can end up straight in front of the body.
  • Tread rear boundary facing the right shoes and the players are in balance.
